Cassidy J24 Guitar Build
Hey guys,
first off my friend made me a logo im calling myself Cassidy Guitars and I'm making a model of my own called the J24. It looks very similar to a PRS custom 24 but the horns and body shape will be a little different as will the specs etc. Here's the template: and i rough cut two blanks: (one of those is the template) I hope to make up any mistakes that i made on previous guitars on this one. If its worthy to sell, let it be done! ![]()

Dude, I think you should finish some builds and IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS before having a "company" or starting a new one.

sorry forgot to mention some things.
My other builds might not get finished soon due to the need of tools at my Dads shop. at the moment i cant use them because he has been very busy. I cant do much on them so i started another build. Wisthekiller: Yes i know. but just in case im planning ahead and i didnt request the logo. my friend just sent it to me and i liked it.

Come on dude, are you that desperate for an ego boost? Definitely looks like your best one to date, but you don't need to bump the thread just because no-one is telling you so.

Screw that, make a lefty-flip, sort of like a reverse Hendrix! Then make those sound holes (which looked really cool btw) continue right through to the other side!

ok so before i move on with routing, i dont want to risk screwing this thing up again so i'm putting this build on hold for now as well as some of my other builds. My life is getting easier (believe it or not) but my Dad and I are purchasing a CNC machine. I know some will hate the idea of making guitars with it because it wont exactly be handmade but this will give me the chance to make guitars that look as good as your hand made guitars. I'm thinking of waiting for that to come in to help me with neck building. but while im posting this im not sure what bridge i should do? any ideas?

Did you fill the accidental neck pocket then?
I say just go hardtail Strat style bridge, that or Tele. Keep it simple ![]() |

CNC machines are all good, not sure how it'll help with this build though - you've got most of the machining done already. As for a bridge, I'd go with a trapeze tailpiece and archtop bridge, for something different.

yup thats all done. wasnt as hard as i thought. was thinking either strat trem or a tailpiece tune o matic. Boysie: well i could use the cnc for the neck mostly. but either way we wont have it till February and i cant use it till we sell enough cabinets to pay it off
