Clean amp with OD pedal vs Dirty Amp

So, I'm spending a lot of time lately planning my perfect Stoner/Doom/Psychedelic Rock pedalboard and I'm wondering what is the best sounding:

A) An amp with natural distortion and/or overdrive (say, for instance, a Jet City)

or

B) JCM800 Bass Amp, completely clean but reduced to 50Watt and then overdriven by a Blakemore Effects Octadrive and a Pharaoh Fuzz.

What do you guys think of each possible scenario?

I personally much prefer amp distortion. I especially don't think a bass amp is going to really give you the sound you want on guitar.

Well, the Marshall JCM800 SuperBass is known for being the equivalent of the that Fender one, that all the guitar players use for pedal running amp (that guy from Tool has one too!) so, I think it sound good with my Pharaoh Fuzz and my Big Muff, I'm just curious to hear any experiences. If I could, I'd buy a JCM800 for guitar, but well... it's pretty expensive, and I like the nice antique etiquette of a 1982 JCM Bass

Use your clean jet city and whatever pedal you want.

Thats what I'd do.

But I don't like the Jet City clean furthermore, that would be a waste of channels on the JC...

Split the difference. Set the amp's gain low, but still enough that it will start to break up if you dig in with your pick. Roll back the volume control to clean up, step on the OD to push it to proper distortion. Dunno about 'stoner' rock, but as far as psychedelic rock goes, that's the standard.
