Bass expansion for Rocksmith..Now I need to buy a bass.

I play guitar and have always wanted to try out bass, but never had the time. But being better at guitar now I feel that bass really wouldnt take much of my time to learn, I have the finger skills down, I just need to learn the difference in playing style.

Whats a good Bass guitar for a low price? I don't really want to spend any more than 300 USD you know? I am first and foremost a guitar player, I'd spend 2000 on a gibson, but.. you get what I am trying to say.

I might try craigslist, but could anyone recommend a brand/model that is versatile (when I say versatile, I mean like a les paul...tone wise) I will be playing all different types of music with it.

Try looking at the Squier VM series and Ibanez. If you can find one of the older Music Man Sub bass Ray34's they are good for the money.

You could save a bit of bandwidth by taking a look at the list of beginner basses compiled in the FAQ.

Rocksmith has a built in bass emulator so u can use your guitar as one. It's not quite the same but it would do until you buy a bass.
