Preamp tubes are easy enough to do yourself and if they're the problem then at least you'll have a working amp if you replace them and it fixes it.

Changing the power tubes is a good idea but if the amp works after changing the preamp tubes then you can relax a bit and not worry about them straight away (it'd still be worth replacing them within the next month or two, even if they aren't the problem, they're probably pretty old).
