Hello fellow UGers, I see you have stumbled upon this thread, intrigued by what I have for you!

For sale/for trade here is a somewhat old guitar, a Jackson Kelly XLR. Made in 1995, it was part of Jackson's old Professional line of guitars, which by many are considered to be some of the greatest import lines of all time (they were MIJ, created at the Chuskin Gakki factory). To juxtapose the XLR to the modern day Jacksons, it would be right up there with the RR24 and the Phil Demmel Signature model (not the PDX one).

Anyways, now onto the guitar. The guitar itself plays amazing. The neck is super fast, and access to the lower frets is great. It does have a bit of fret wear, but not too much. It does have a couple nicks here and there, but it is a 20 year-old axe. Anyways, here are the specs:

-24 fret, bound rosewood fretboard (headstock is also bound)
-Mother-of-Pearl sharkfin inlays (not the Pearloid crap they have now)
-Black finish
-Jackson LFR (which stays in tune quite nice)
-EMG 81/85 combo
-Poplar bound w/ alder wings
-bolt-on maple neck
-one volume pot, three-way switch
-black hardware
-reverse neck and headstock (the R in the XLR)

Price-wise, I am asking for $600 (negotiable).

Trade-wise, I am looking for old Jackson/Charvels (specifically Jackson Pros or Charvel Model 6s) or a Ibanez 540/750. But, offer me anything, as I'm pretty open when it comes to guitars.

Nope, I must say. I think it's reincarnated in the KE-3 because of the same specs except alder instead of poplar. Demmel and RR24 are more expensive and neckthru with ebony fretboards you know. Your axe is great but these two are superior to your guitar.

The KE-3 is a reincarnated XL(R), but weaker; the XLR had MOP and was of higher build quality than the KE-3. Compared to the Demmel and RR24, I'd say the quality of build is better. I previously owned a RR24, and though it was visually appealing, the XLR beats it out. The ebony fretboard and neck-thru joint are all preference, though they are ones most of us prefer.

I owned Kelly Std Professional and played RR24 once. I'd say RR24 feels better.
Nevermind cause I've got a '90 Rhoads Pro and imo that thing beats all that guitars in feeling and sound.
