New Spring Reverb Tank?
Okay, so I love everything about my new '69 Bandmaster reverb... except the reverb. It doesn't seem to sound like spring reverb should. It isn't noticable until the knob is at about 4 and by then there is too much. As well, the reverb is noticeably tinny and harsh sounding, not smooth like I've known spring reverb to be. So my question is whether or not a new reverb tank would improve the reverb tone or if I just need new tubes or is this the nature of spring reverb? Thanks!

You'd get more help in the GG&A forum (Guitar Gear & Accessories)

First thing I would do is change out your reverb driver and recovery tubes.
