I've been learning Wes Montgomery's Full House lately by ear, as in the whole album. And I'm surprised how much of his language I've picked up into my own improvisation. Pay attention to how he articulates, it's pretty important. And after you learn an entire solo, write it down(make it as detailed as possible, it is meant to be an excercise to open up your ears to other musical parameters that exist not just melody, harmony and rhythm) , then write the changes over it. So you have some sort of idea how he navigates certain chords.
