Hey guys
I've been playing guitar for 3 years now and am self taught, and know as much theory to understand how chords are made and how to figure out keys for improvising, ect.
But lately, for the past 4 months or so I've hit a bit of a road block.
To put it in short, my horizon for ideas has become really narrow.
I do listen to many bands, but for the past year or so I've been only listening to The Beatles and Pink Floyd and have lost the "feeling" for some of the other bands.
I think this may have "numbed" my brain when it comes to making ideas, and keep in mind I don't have a tutor, everyday all I do is "improvise" random things until something clicks, and lately I've been playing the same things and losing ideas. And it kind of feels like listening to music is a bit of a chore.

I love playing and do it everyday, but how should I approach this problem?
It's difficult for me to get any ideas out of music when it's being used as background noise (doing something while listening).

I appreciate any advice you guys give.

Stop listening to music, stop fretting. For a while, at least. There's other things to be doing.

When you come back, perhaps you will have a different perspective.

Instead of improvising "random" things, try to construct a solo. Use the chord tones as landing points, and improvise on the in-between-landing-points.

Also try

- learning a song that is not The Beatles or Floyd
- playing two notes at once sometimes, then single notes
- skipping strings
- stepping out of the scale briefly and then step back in
- going down to The Crossroads...and try to flag 'ah ride

all this advice is assuming you are having trouble soloing...which I think is what you are asking... but the same(ish) can apply to chord progressions
