Crit my metal! [soundcloud]
First real effort in the metal genre, and best recording/mixing/mastering job I've done so far. Still learning so any pointers are welcome!

This track is very ****ing awesome. I like the slow heavy riffs a lot. That lead was perfect for the rhythm.

Thanks everyone! Funny thing is, I've never listened to them. Might have to start haha Quote:
Thanks man... although I will warn you I don't make new stuff often as school and work eat up so much time haha. Loved your song! Sounds like something from Metallica's Load album (I mean that in a good way). Solo fits nicely too. Keep it up!

Production and overall sound quality sound very good right from the off. Clean guitar has a lovely tone and lead sounds decent also with loads of reverb. Heavy guitars sound good when when they come in. I really like the blend of heaviness then going back to the clean guitar parts and leads as well. Playing is tight, throughout which is important. Solo is pretty nice. The whole song is good, has a nice feeling of being unrushed. Good stuff!

Thanks a lot I don't have expensive equipment, just an SM57 into an M-Audio MobilePre USB and recorded on Logic Express 8 with a Macbook Air. So that means a lot! I like your stuff a lot it's very different (for me at least). The singing is great and so was the solo. I really liked the harmonies between guitar and symphonic elements it gives a nice atmosphere. Good job!

This sounds badass, I love the slow-heavy feel... Some of the riffs feel a little generic though, maybe you should try branching into some polyrhythms. Listen to Meshuggah, The Contortionist, and Animals As Leaders, they're all expert bands on bizarre rhythms.
