Identify This Amp....
Guys,
Can anyone identify the amp(s) that Rich Robinson is playing in this video? I want to say a Fender Champ (based on the size) but im not really sure. Any ideas? |

Looks like two identical tweed amps with oxblood grilles, so really they could be anything.

No, they aren't. Maybe two Fenders of some sort. Of course, many companies and small boutique ranges have tweed colored amps, it really could be anything. |

From the size and the width of the grill cloth (not to mention the tone) I think they're Fender Deluxes or cloned thereof. Victoria? Who even knows anymore.

Yeah, without seeing the name plate, no way to know. There are tons of amps that look like, fender deluxes and older peavey classic 30s included. Someone just had a NAD for a cornell fender clone and it look a bit like that (whether the grill was the same or not).
I mean, it could be a jcm800 or a soldano shoved in there ![]()

Could they be Fender '57 Deluxe reissues?
Might be a bit bigger than the ones in the video though. EDIT: Sorry, posted this before I saw your comment about the deluxes Last edited by madi719 : 09-28-2012 at 07:48 PM. |

Yep, but like I said, there is no way to confirm or deny that from just that video. Edit: ah, ![]() That being said, I'd probably just start hitting up google and see what that guy is known for using. His tone in that video seems a little too gainy for a deluxe (imo) but I could always be wrong.

I am pretty dead set that they are Fenders. Looking at his website, he uses mostly 65 Amps stuff, so this was probably provided by sessionists, which are almost never boutique amps.

If we're looking at the same website, he at least owns a pair of mid-'50s Deluxes. Didn't think to look that up before.

You win. I was definitely looking at another site that didn't have half that stuff listed. |
