while I mute the skipped string will I pick it but there will be no sound because it's muted?
will I use my arm or wriste while string skipping?
Thnx

You're missing a link there...

Anyway, I've seen people do it both ways, it depends how quickly you need to get from one string to the next and how much picking you need to do. If you're picking one note on each string, Paul Gilbert style, you should be able to use pure wrist motion for each single string skip; so in a typical lick it would be the motion from the A to the G or from the G to the E that would be one motion and then you have enough time to shift your arm for the next motion.

If you're talking about doing things like the 5s in Erotomania by Dream Theater then you need to adjust your arm position much faster so you can keep the wrist in a good position for picking.

As for the muting, you should be able to mute the strings that you don't want to sound. That, however, does not mean that you shouldn't be as accurate as possible. You should always be aiming not to hit the strings in the middle, the muting is just a failsafe.

Edit: link has appeared, will provide updated advice soon.

Edit2: Nope, nothing changes, it's just really really hard.

On one string? You're asking about string skipping on one string?

E:-------------------------------------------------------------------
B:-----------------------------11-------11-14-----11-14-17
G:------------------------------------------------------------------
D:--11-14-17-11-14-17---14-17--------17--------------

A:------------------------------------------------------------------
E:------------------------------------------------------------------

Again: nothing about what I said changes, this example follows the Petrucci/Dream Theater examples I mentioned. Just take it slow and get used to it, it's just really hard.
