The company itself probably didn't knew anything about it.
I sincerely believe that the company consists of people wearing pink bunny costumes and smiling all the time. Maybe the real patriots of the country should stand up against it's own company? |

That too, especailly if you don't even use there seeds tbey will still sue you into the poorhouse because bird eats corn, bird craps it out it grows into your crops 3 years pass they sue and win. That's just some of the additional scumbaggery that Monsanto does in addition to the forced repurchases every year.

Clearly the cancer was caused by the corn. Quote:
Also, clearly a website of unbiased scientific reporting.

Ignorance. Monsanto's business practices are marginal, but it's not helpful to claim stupid crap in a weak effort to bolster your case.

That is almost certainly so. What pisses me off is a guy who is, and this is from the article: "A natural health author and award-winning journalist with a strong interest in personal health, the environment and the power of nature to help us all heal" trying to report about something very important, namely genetically modified food. It's not like he's without his own agenda, he makes a living off of claiming how pure nature is so wonderfully healthy for everybody. That is not science, and he should not be reporting about science.

Well, Roundup is a Monsanto product, and the GMOs in question have been genetically modified specifically to be resistant to Roundup. Putting Roundup on the corn isn't really an issue since the Monsanto corn that farmers grow is sprayed with it. /watched Food, Inc. less than a week ago

He's of the same caliber of reporters that jumps to write about how we're all going to die just because some scientist said there's a tiny chance the LHC will spawn a gigantic black hole. Nothing of value would be lost.

First it's necessary to point out what is actually modified about the corn. The corn has had a gene inserted that produces a protein that protects the plant from Roundup. Thus, farmers can use the herbicide to kill all plants other than the corn, increasing yields and leaving more soil nutrients to the corn.
This is quite an intriguing study, but remember, a single study does mean absolute proof. While it may be the most comprehensive one to date, the overwhelming majority of scientific knowledge and evidence still points strongly towards the conclusion that GM food is not any more dangerous than the rest of our food supply. If other scientists conduct this experiment and similar ones and get the same results, then there is a much more conclusive finding. But individual studies sometimes fail to properly control and consider all its variables, are subject to randomness, and can have misinterpreted results. Remember the single faster-than-light neutrino report? After others tried and failed to replicate this one provocative study, its findings were discredited. This could very likely happen to this case. As a few others pointed out, the cancer could indeed have been caused by the herbicide and not the corn. Furthermore, as the article pointed out, it has already been in the US food supply for ten years, and as far as I know, no study has even linked it to cancer, much less produced hard evidence that the GM corn causes it. But whatever the final verdict is, it only applies to this particular GM corn variety, NOT to GM foods as a whole. The only possible part of a GM food that could be dangerous is whatever set of genes are inserted and their corresponding proteins. The process of modifying the genome is not dangerous, and by itself does not produce a dangerous product. So, if they do conclusively link the Monsanto GM corn to tumors, they should ban ONLY crops that contain that gene, NOT all GM products.
