humbuckers

Ok I want to put a humbucker on my Squier Stratocaster Standard series. I play mostly classic rock, blues, metal that kinda stuff. So I can't decide If I should put a seymour duncan hot rail in the place of the of the middle pick up or should I put a normal size humbucker on the brige, but what do yall think?

I'd definitely go for a normal sized humbucker in the bridge, especially since you said you'll be playing metal. There are more options available, and I prefer the bridge to the middle for rhythm. Do you know if your guitar has a route for a humbucker already?

i personally would put in some single-coil sized humbuckers like the hot rails. Billy Corgan gets some seriouslly heavy tones with similair pickups. Dropping in a humbucker will take more work, and imo doesn't look as good as the hot rails.

As long as you get a proper scratchplate, there is barely any extra work, as you might want to rewire the whole package anyway, perhaps replace the pots while you are at it.

I'd put a full size in the bridge.

If u only want to buy one pickup, id put it into the bridge. The middle pickups gets very, uh ,stratty tones. Very funky. If its in the bridge, it will just go crazy and be awesome.
But whatever u want is up to you.
