Swing Guitars?
Hey guys, I heard of a relatively new korean guitar brand called Swing. Looks pretty rad to me. (ibanez + epiphone-esque?)
I'm considering breaking away from the usual ESP/Fenders/Epiphones/Ibanez budget guitars and trying out a Swing...I can't find any reviews on the net cos this Swing brand is pretty remote Swing website: http://www.swingguitars.com/English/english_main.html Swing guitars: http://www.swingguitars.com/English...oduct_main.html Artists that endorse Swing guitars: http://www.swingguitars.com/English...rtist_main.html What do you guys think of Swing? ![]()

I got turned onto them by the guys at Tesla Pickups. I haven't gotten one, but I've been thinking about getting their Exciter Gold model.
They're good enough that Jeff Watson (of Night Ranger) has a signature model with them.

Sometimes, you just gotta be the first kid on your block to try ________.
When it comes to guitars, I'm willing- and on occasion, financially able- to be the first to try a particular brand. I was a bit of a pioneer for trying Dean guitars in my area (even though there was a local star who was endorsed by them, only their basses we easily found). My experiment turned into a major inventory change for my music store- they now sell more Dean guitars than almost any other dealer in a multi-state region. Similarly, I was one of the first in my area to try out a JKG guitar. He's made a few more sales down here since my purchase...and even my former guitar teacher is pretty impressed by what I own. Now, it worked out for me...but honestly, I got lucky. My experimental purchases could have been terrible. So you have to ask yourself: 1) what is the store's FORMAL return policy? 2) the guy who recommended it to me is motivated to make money, how far will he go to make me happy if I don't like the guitar he recommended? (OW, is there an informal return policy in addition to the formal one? Polite customers who deal with good salesmen can often get them to bend the rules a bit, because those salesmen are looking to create long-term repeat customers instead of treating customers shoddily. 3) can I afford a guitar right now? 4) do I feel comfortable trying a relatively unknown brand with my money?

I have a soft spot for off brand guitars; I kind of like the idea of taking a bit of a gamble in the hope that you score something really sweet for a bargain price. I also like not having the same strat/Les Paul as everyone else in town. Some of those Swings look pretty cool, but I didn't see any pricing on any of them. Does anybody know how much they're charging?

I found a Harmony Central review of the Classic DC that listed a base price of €495 (@ $645).
And this Russian dude demoing the Jeff Watson sig makes me think good things... http://www.truthinshredding.com/201...eff-watson.html Following that link to look at this Swing P-3, it has a price of 470 Singapore dollars. That's about $384.
