First off record sales doesn't mean your music is better then another genre it just means more sheeple will mindlessly buy it because MTV told them to. Secondly you should never get angry at the type of music people listen to, that is their choice and unless buddy if holding you down forcing you to listen to it, you really shouldn't get so worked up over it, just ignore them it works wonders. I would suggest the OP look into anger management therapy otherwise your going to end up with an unprovoked assault charge and not be able to leave your country of residence for many years.

Also I somewhat empathize with op. Whenever I people ask me what I listen to, I just say metal, and they're like "oh like Metallica, Slipknot, Pantera, Lamb of God, Slayer etc?" I don't get upset though, just tell them it's more obscure stuff.

Inside I'm furious at how untrve they are.

I had the most overwhelming urge to punch my coworker in the face today at the Museum of Art because of what he said. the conversation went something like this...

him: Do you listen to Muddy Waters?

me: no

him:WHAT! how can you not listen to him?

me: I don't like him.

me I thought that made me normal.

him( proceeds to start singing one of his songs about growing up in harsh times)
