I don't get why people feel the need to smash their guitars. Treat your guitar like your arm with respect, it should be an extension to your body. Would you ever smash your arm?

No, it really wasn't, save for the fact the equation might be "I=MV".

If you want to measure in "arnolds", just put the guitar safely in its case, and go knock up the maid....

The kind of person that would smash their guitar probably would, sadly.

Pandering to the unwashed mob is one potential explanation. It's very doubtful that they respect you guitar one iota. So, in the same way you shouldn't let a wild animal sense fear, you can't display it to an audience. For example, if I'm in an audience, when I'm not watching the guitar player's hands, I'm usually looking to see if the girl singer has visible panty lines, ("VPL" for short), and not so much listening to whether she's on pitch.

When you come right down to it, the typical drunken audience is proudly descended from the same lineage of ***holes that shouted, "give us Barrabas", at Jesus' "Crown of Thorns" tour. How could you deprive them of the pleasure of watching you destroy your guitar?

Hell, buy Squires buy the case, they should be dirt cheap by the dozen. Just save them for paying gigs, and make sure they're painted the same color as your real guitar.

actually yes, it really was bad.

It depends velocity, weight, and what angle, the instrument contacts "X" solid object. I think "Force=Mass times Velocity" or something like that

if you are talking about newton's F = ma, then i don't know why you brought in weight (weight is mass's interaction with gravity, i guess you meant mass) and if you want to evoke angle then you are going to need another equation for that to work properly in a collision with the floor. velocity has nothing to do with force unless you are talking about a elastic collision with another object (then you'd have to figure out the momentum of the guitar) and F=ma has very little to do with that.

maybe you were trying to calculate momentum, then that would be closer to P=mv. but then you'd still need to run that through an elastic collision, which may be why you brought up 'angle'...

either way, your thought was far from accurate or complete. you shouldn't bring up things you don't know about.

Or to rephrase my question slightly, whats the worst that could happen?

Cheers

Your bassist sounds like sounds like an asshole. But it's a bass so no one cares anyway.
And the worst thing...you ruin a perfectly good guitar and I hope you burn in hell

Honestly? I think your fender will be fine. I've seen them dropped down stairs and they're fine after.

Still though, nobody cares that you're trashing your instrument. Nobody wants to see it either... They paid to see a band. They didn't pay to watch you wreck the guitar your mom bought for you.

I'm pretty sure people would just laugh at you for being such a huge tool bag as well.

Make a habit of it and you'll be buying a new guitar shortly... That much I can guarantee.
