Are you gigging or at home? Are cleans important to you?

Can you mic your amp at gigs? I'd go for this.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOX-AC15C...=item3f1d5cd367 The only downside is that you'll probably have to mic it up if you want pristine cleans at your gigs (low clean headroom). It's plenty loud though. Easily will get over a drummer. Tube too, not solid state. ![]() Edit: Just saw you want brand new. Don't worry if you're not interested in used.

Peavey Classic series are blues-rock amps, I think.

Peavey classic 30, great price, great amp all the way around. I used to have one, I will probably end up getting another.

Blink 182 is mostly Mesa Recto and at times a JCM900. In recent times he's switched to an AC30 and sometimes a Fender Twin.
Now it's hard to get a more metal amp than a Recto. You need to adjust your thinking. Lots of (most) punk bands now use high gain amps of some type. Greenday is mostly a plexi turned way up or a JCM800. Greenday sounds good on a full on high gain metal amp nonetheless. The rhythm guitarist in my last band playing that sort of stuff was using a JCM900 and it pulled it off fine. I was using a Mesa Mark sorta sounding amp for lead. You can get away with a lot with punk. Bad Religion and NoFX - mostly Mesa Rectos. It's only old punk like the Pistols and the Ramones that used old amps cranked right up and even then, the Ramones switched to JCM800's. And the pistols? Fender Twin on Bollocks but on the reunion tour he was using a JCM900. If you are trying to keep it cheap look for a used JCM900 (the 50W is plenty big enough so get whatever pops up). They pop up cheap all the time. A Peavey Valveking would do the deed too. I'd have a look at Jet City too. A JCA50 would be a good choice. You want something with a fair amount of gain actually. Don't snub your nose at metal amps - punks and metalheads use fundamentally the same types of amps. Bad Religion on a Hagen would sound hot.
