Sure. @due: That's probably true. Real people don't listen to them though. Only internet people. And internet people aren't real.

But then again, no one is real. I'm the only one with free will. The rest of you are just robots made to influence my life.

I have 23 play-throughs of FYEB so far. That's a lot for me. Even on something that short.

I have about 30 play throughs of that and I Could Do Whatever I Wanted If I Wanted. That's according to my iPod anyway. That doesn't count the numerous times on my record player.

She'd like to listen to me dick around in the key of C while singing about how much I love a good curry and her face.

I have never met a girl who had "good" musical taste because she just did. It's because she wanted to be a cool hipster girl on tumblr. And even then it's only stuff like Grimes and shit.
So music taste does not matter to me.

That's unfortunate. I have a few female friends that have a great taste in music.

![]() Hope you don't think that just cuz you link him w/ Scaruffiism. Lester Bangs interprets Beefheart from a more appropriate perspective, if maybe too emphatically. |

I met a girl once who liked Pink Floyd.
Full of herself. Only song by Pink Floyd she ever listened to was Wish You Were Here. |

I don't care what she listens to as long as she has knows who certain people are, and has respect for certain bands.
If she says "Who is The Who" Not as a bad joke then that is a deal breaker. Also she has to know Lil' Wayne, and Drake are not philosophers, and YOLO is not something to live by. |

Christgau is cool asshole though, cuz his bullshit is aphoristic. It doesn't waste much of your time and gives you a lil something to think about. It's way better than a relatively amiable critic like Fantano who takes eight minutes to say "this album is pretty good, there were some good songs that sounded like so-and-so, but it's not very different from the last album" or smth. Idk Ian Cohen. |
