I'm not a Dream Theater fan at all, but their fans are so annoying. They go on and on about how they want to blow Petrucci (and for some earlier fans, Portnoy).
Rush fans tend to be a bit obsessive. Pantera fans can't accept the glam metal album or Far Beyond Driven as good albums, but praise the band (specifically Dimebag) as gods for everything else. Every Satriani fan I've met has been really stuck up about it. Beatles fans. They are usually the worst. I know Beatles did a lot for music, but their fans are just so terrible about it...

Not a particular band but teenage girls. I say this all the time, the Boys grow up wanting to be Motely Crue and the Girls grow up wanting to **** Motley Crue. Also metalheads who basically act like they don't care about what people think but only listen to "true metal" because they are worried what other metalheads think of them. I love all Metal (even core stuff) but not exclusively.
As far as actual bands go the main one I can think of is Avenged Sevenfold, who are among my favorite bands. I'm not one to go on others opinions though, recently my family discovered I had bought a Barry Manilow CD. When questioned with utter disdain during the intervention I said, "So who wants a copy?" i saw COB and they put a hell of a show on. i think that was in '04 on the hatecrew deathroll. the only thing i hate is all of the damn videos on youtube of people trying to imitate alexi, (snake tat up finger, black fingernails). black dahlia is insane. when i saw them it was mostly 300 pound tatted up and drunk and hostile. that was the only show i saw that was interrupted for emergency and EMT's with a stretcher. guy was bloody as hell. then i got stuck i a headlock from behind, and a friend hit him a few times, then the bouncer saw and threw him out. but they are an awesome band. that was a long time ago, probably '05 but i don't really remember when. i really like inflames, and i agree they are overhyped, but i discovered them on the rerout album when it came out. great band though.
