High quality & accurate tabs!
Am I the only one who thinks UG should open some sort of a "Tab Store" with highly accurate tabs? Or even just one weekly tab that is the most requested?
I know there is a huge interest in this and I quote "this site should pay people to write accurate tabs... +27" What do you think?

I think the whole beauty of UG is that it is absolutely free, (well, it was back in my days)
But if UG hired a 'professional' guitarist to tab out some requested songs I think it would be ok. But I don't fancy that "Store"-thingy...

The whole giving out tabs for free thing isn't good with the law. Selling those tabs would probably be illegal.

Well, of course UG needs to get permission from the publishers. Which isn't that difficult.

I definitely think tabs in general (whether it be from MySongBook or "official" sheet music, or amateurs) lack a ton in finesse and that quite few transcribers are really good.
To make full tabs (all instruments with great accuracy) takes a lot of time, one can spend a full work week to make such tabs. And I do think the result is worth paying for. I've had a software idea for some time including full tabs with additional master tracks, the problem is the licensing. |
