This. One time it took me 63 Ultra Balls, but I finally got that bitch Zapdos. All the legendary birds are easy. There is no reason to waste the Master ball on them, I always did Mewtwo. Never tried the Missingno or Mew glitches because I was too young to understand such things when I played for real and didn't care enough through my replays as I got older except to max out the pokedex,etc.

I never found the legendary dogs either, though I suppose it would be smart to use it on that as well.

Anyone ever tried the item duplicating cheat with a masterball?

EDIT: This was original Blue of course. I've played silver and gold, but that's as far as I've been generation wise. Part of me wants to play the latest generation, but I always end up nostaliga-ing for the days of yore when I knew all 150 pokemon and they weren't stupid (in my glorified nostalgiacal opinion).
