Ty I'll look into that. Isn't the vyper very digital? Is it a good beginner amp for giving to get into? Personally I don't care who makes as long as its sturdy, sounds good, quality and easy to carry!

No, the Vyper tube is a pearler. The main preamp where all the modelling goes on is analog. The digital stuff is just the effects. The power amp is lifted straight out of a 6505. It's the least digital of the lot - because the amp part is analog.

I got my Vypyr 60 used for $315
I think the Sampera II pedals are around $150 used. The amp takes stand-alone pedals extremely well IMO BTW. I'd still rather have a Renegade for what you play. ![]()

I'd kill for a Renegade.
TS: The Vypyr is really the best option, along with either a DSL or a Peavey Classic/Crate Vintage Club. As someone who's gigged one of the original series Tweakers for almost over 2 years, I have only one warning: the amp does not have the best cleans. Also it doesn't clean up as much as other amps.

I guess that is what I'm saying. The Renegade is pretty damn flexible. Two completely different channels, EL34s AND 6L6s, voicing switches, two master volumes, 65w/18w, and one of the best footswitches around.
He had so much trouble dialing in a good tone with the Renegade that I'm afraid a Vypyr, Classic 30 or DSL isn't going to be any easier.

Kicks the crap out of Peavey's Classic series by far. Does everything the Classic's do, but better. At all volumes. Plus 50w gives you more clean headroom. Here's a clip of the 2x12 version: show

Now, I'm not so sure about all of that, I'm quite fond of my Vengeance's footswitch. ou literally can't beat that kind of flexibility. Engater really outdoes themselves in the footswitch department. I think the only two things I could POSSIBLY want that it doesn't have are: - Channel selectable Reverb option like the Effects Loop and 2nd Master switches have - An option for the Reverb to automatically come on with the 2nd Master Really, though, those aren't even necessary, they would just cut down on my on-stage tap dancing routine.

^ That's why I said 'one of the best'
![]() I was specifically talking about the Renegade - I don't remember much from the Vengeance or Tourmaster FS. I believe the Renegade has channel selectable reverb and I'm not sure why you would want reverb auto on with 2nd master.

The Vengeance footswitch is just the Renegade footswitch with even more options, and the option to have Reverb come on with the Second Master is because I generally like to have Reverb on during my solos, and I use the 2nd Master as a boost, so it would involve less of a tapdance to get both.

That would be an interesting idea...I wouldn't mind putting that option in myself. Just a little switch that in one position turns the Reverb on with the Boost and in the other position bypasses that option. I agree with your questioning, too. TS hasn't chimed in with anything new in a while now.
