Turntable with Docking station. Need Vinyl Advice!

So, hey, Im looking to buy a turntable so I can play my records in my flat. Previously, when I wanted to listen to records, I would just go round to my dads and use his whole hifi set up, but I'm living quite far away now and have decided to get my own.

Im thinking of getting this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ion-Max-LP-...words=turntable

and connecting it to the aux input of my iPod docking station via the headphone jack of the turntable.

If I did this, would this degrade the quality of the audio to the point where I might as well be listening to an iPod? In other words, would it lose the vinyl character?

U shouldn't have any problems, although to be honest, I don't know who vinyl is?

My advice is to get with the times and ditch vinyl.

I know next to nothing about turntables so I could be talking shit. I'm gonna do it anyway.

AFAIK, a high quality record player should cost you well over $80. And from the words "digital converson," I can only assume you'll lose some of the fidelity of the record.

http://www.ebay.pl/itm/Dual-CS-505-...=item4880fb67b3 I got this turntable. I'm really happy with quality. I also have great polish speakers from Maestro. I also use old Technics amp and equalizer. So you will also need buy some other stuff than only turntable to get some quality
P.S
I also use Pro-Ject preamplifier
P.P.S It will probably sound shit using only Ipod or stuff like that

Buying a record player just to hook it up to an ipod docking station seems like an incredibly pointless thing to waste money on, just saying. If you care that much about listening to vinyl, save up and get a proper setup.

Vinyl records are hardly high fidelity anyway, in the strictest use of the term.

And that's coming from someone who spends $800 on a cartridge replacement, let alone $80 on the whole turntable.
