Hi all helpfull souls!

I'm getting a headache trying to figure out how to set up my pedals.
The thing is that I just got my AC30, which has an effects loop, and I have a boss ns-2, which also has an effects loop, so I'm stuck at doing a loop in a loop or not I guess.

So, my pedals at the moment are:

Korg ax1500g multi effect, which nowadays I only use for the volume/wah pedal
Boss ns-2 noise supressor
Boss CS-3 compressor sustainer
Boss ml-2 metalcore (goign to sell that one and get a nice distortion pedal)
Digitech Bad Monkey overdrive
Nana Switchblade AB box
Fame Sweet Tone equalizer

So I have made a picture of what I think is the best setup: Wah/volume, distortion and overdrive in front of the amp going to the AB Pedal to switch between the normal and top boost channel of my amp.
In the effectsloop of the amp the ns-2 with another loop for the equalizer and compressor.

Is this the best way to do it and is the extra loop for the ns-2 a good thing? Comments are welcome.

I believe the loop on the NS2 is for quieting noisy pedals if I'm not mistaken.

shuldnt the pedals effects loop pedals be in series with the NS-2
and then you could use the effects loop on the ns2 to quiet up any noise pedals you have before the effects loop(some distortions or overdrives can get pretty noise on their own)

anyway thats how i would use it

This is how I would arrange it:
-MFX for Volume/Wah
-Compressor
-Overdrive
-Distortion
-A/B for channel switching

FX Loop of amp:
-EQ
-Noise Gate

There's no need to use the NS2's loop unless you have noisy pedals.

Why do it like this and what will be the effect?

You do it like that because that's what it was designed for, it's almost always the most optimal way to use it. It's right in the manual.

The effect will be that you cancel out noise from the biggest possible portion of your signal chain, including the preamp which is where most of the hiss and noise is going to come from. It's pretty well spelled out in the bottom of that graphic.

I don't know the technical reasoning for it, but if you do it the way you described, it won't work. You'll either get no distortion, or barely any volume at all - weird shit when you don't hook it up right. Just hook everything up as described in the picture and you'll be good to go.
