new free stuff day!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() so here it is. Squier P-bass, MG15CD, Korg Toneworks 1500G, four cables, 3x20' and 1x12' not great cables but they are fine to use. Squier P-Bass - its the second bass that i have ever had, never had much interest, and i gave my old washburn beat to hell bass to a friend a few years ago when he was without one. squier has never been terrible, but never great. it does the job. needed major set up. need to do a setup after a go for another round of truss rod rotation (another 90* should do it). it doesn't sound too bad and is solid. sounds good. my bass amp is a Genz Benz M-Line 200, which isn't terrible. Marshall MG15CD - yea it sounds like shit, but the clean channel is usable. its nice to have sitting around because sometimes i teach lessons at my students houses so if i get a new student who doesn't have an amp i have a second practice amp. its for sale for anybody who would require. Korg Toneworks 1500G - i had one of these several years ago and sold it and kind of regretted it. but i have another one now. there is a problem with the delay knob, but everything else works. it can sound good with some time investing in in creating good presets. it was better that the POD's when i got my first one. this one does alright. the modulation effects and cab simulation and surprisingly its wah are its strong points. and cables. they are Groove plugs (IIRC) they work. average $10-$15 cables. can never have too many cables. so now how i got this. my mom works in an outpatient surgery center and she was talking to a nurse and she mentioned that i played several instruments and she said she had some stuff from her daughter that went off to college that never got used, and she told my mom today that she had some stuff for me. and that was all of the above. completely free. it proves that there are some nice and generous people around.

thanks. none of it is amazing, but it all does the job. the bass is pretty impressive for a basic squier. sounds pretty good. i am not sure though because it may be my amp, but i am glad to have a bass again.

That bass is awesome! I want to buy a Squier just to record into my computer. The fact that you got it for free + more stuff makes me pretty jelly.

i think you missed the other NAD post then. i bought the MKIV a week or two after whatever amp before i got it. i am getting to the point where i don't need much more. really just a couple of heads left but i think i am going to buy a synth in the next month or two, as i have been playing tons of piano. thanks, and ![]()

I have never had the misfortune of owning one. I went from a Crate SS to a Crate BV and then markV and a few others.
Like you said great for your students. Without owning starter gear that is blah you can't really appreciate the good stuff.

Man I'd love to get this kind of crap for free, I'd like to have a go at the internals of that MG and see if there is anything you could do to fix some of the bad.

Had a small MG similar to the one here. I raged at the tone, stabbed the speaker with a screwdriver, and dumped it into the garbage can. ![]()

ironically i got rid of the other MG it was a 10 watt and i got $40 from it. poor idiot. then this one comes. the other was given to me after i got a MIM strat from some guy and he asked if i wanted it. i said yes. so at least i didn't pay for one.........it is good for students. i have sold a decent amount to them over the last year or so, another way to make money off of them ![]()

i could build another 18watter and put it in there. but i would need to find something else for the chassis. the worst thing would be only having an 8" speaker. it would be pretty cool to have an 18watt in there, it would turn some heads...

I could only imagine the reactions, it'd be even better to take the mg 100 combo, put a jcm800 in it and replace the speaker with a greenback or a v30.

that would be awesome, but i wouldn't want to cut a chassis, but maybe i could find one. the amps i build get my signature cabinet. black stained birch and a satin clear coat, i like how plain i make them because nobody knows what it is, and its kind of a sleeper again.
