I've only had 1 guitar (that I can remember) which had a single inlay on the 12th fret. I never really had trouble figuring out where I was.

If it ever got troublesome, you can just get some inlay stickers.

The first electric guitar I ever bought as an Epi G-400 Goth with nothing but a XII inlay at the 12th fret. It never bothered me at all, and I found it pretty handsome.

Indeed it is. I got the Blackjack ATX FR about a year ago, similar sort of set up I suspect, but you are right on all accounts
