Well.....on review it says...the SD are good for 80 classic rock...that's why i asked about playng metal with these pickups ....

It sounds horrible... THE WHOLE F%$^'N VIDEO! Anyway OT: Super Distortion is a great pick up, perfect for 80's metal.

Agreed, that vid sounds bad throughout. This is what the SuperD sounds closest like to me:


That's the basic tone of the SuperD. It is great for classic rock, 80's metal, hard rock & shred. For modern metal the Crunch Lab won't disappoint, the SuperD will need an EQ pedal in between the guitar & amp(sim) to tighten up the low end.

The custom seems to have more highs, I sense more fullness too. But somehow I prefer the crunch lab.
