A friend and I are doing a 2 man acoustic group. I play lead and back vocals. He plays lead and sings.
Songs like Ben Harper. Jack johnson. Blind melon. How can we get the most out of what we have? Soloing wise what are some techniques. For example soloing on a electric opposed to a Taylor 316ce. That's what I play. Just wanna do the best we can do with 2 people. Thanks S6s Also who are good acoustic soloing artist to listen to? Solo meaning lead not stand alone singer.

Listen to some Rodrigo & Gabriela, that should help. Use tons of voicings, and for the soloing, get ahead in modal playing and create harmonies, that'll be simple.

For lead artists, Zakk Wylde's Book Of Shadow album, has some cool acoustic solos. The song A Room With A View by Death Angel, Rob Cavestany does an amazing acoustic solo, I think he has a solo album, with lots of acoustics.

Ignore this, modes will be of no use to you. You should learn some theory though so you can either create chord voicings higher on the neck for one of the guitar parts to make the sound more full or so you can play different chords that enrich the harmony of the piece overall. In terms of soloing you can really approach it in much the same way you would with an electric although it might be worth looking in to some chord melody type playing so you can keep the sound relatively thick and still have a melody part at the same time.

I was in a bar in France and there was an accoustic duo playing quite a bit of Foo Fighters stuff. It was more along the lines of Dave Grohl's accoustic solo stuff he did live on the radio. Times like these, My Hero, Everlong.....etc. Really good.
