I have owned a lot of guitars since the 1960's some good , some just ok. My best acoustical so far is my Zager ZAD-50/VS Since owning this, I play a little every day. My son bought a Martin (also a great guitar) and when he played mine he couldn't believe how easy it played. Some like it, some don't. Personally in my opinion, for the money you can't go wrong. Art

Currently I have a Takamine G series and a Dean Boca semi-hollow body 12-string and their both great guitars. Their not outrageously expensive either so they suit me pretty perfectly.

hmm... i smell something porky. is it a pork chop?...nah...oh oh that's it !! SPAM ! i love SPAM sandwiches ! is there no depth low enouch for Danny Zager? apparently the guitar sale on Ebay didnt go as well as he hoped. now he's stuck trying to advertise here in the forums of UG.
Danny...take that royalty from your 1 hit song and invest in a Mcdonalds or something and leave us alone ! |

well, considering that zagerizing is basically just a setup, which makes guitars more playable, it's always possible that the op just doesn't know any better.

About pork. Yes I am a new poster and I posted what I believe about the Zager Guitar that I own and there is nothing in it for me monitarilyor otherwise, I have no stake in this. Just because you don't like the guitar you think it is just a sales pitch on my part. I don't really care what you buy or what you play I just stated that it is a fine guitar.

If you would read my first post about it, you might find that I do know better and I also know that it is a setup (instrument) as you stated. I would be willing to wager that you have never played one yourself. I stand by my comment that it is still a fine guitar no matter who set it up. |

i know noting of the guitar itself. i've never played/seen/or heard of. i'm only stating my opinion on the statement that you've posted. it reads like an advertisement.

Let me assure you that it was not a advertisement. I just stated what I found about the Zager guitar that I own and it is a FINE instrument. That is what I know about it. |

you have to admit...it's a damn strange way to introduce yourself to a forum. what other guitars do you own? im curious as to what your comparing it to.
unfortunately, there aren't any music shops to my knowledge in the greater New York area that stock these guitars you speak so highly of. i cant go out and try one so i'd like your take as your the only owner of one that i know of. what would make this guitar "the one i'd want if i could only have one guitar". |

A bit of trivia, a "B" spandex sci-fi series called, "Cleopatra 2525", was ostensibly named with a bit of a pinch from the song title. It parodied the Buck Rogers series premise of a 20th century man waking up 500 years after being in suspended animation for centuries. Here's the IMDB pages on the 2 series: "Cleopatra" http://www.imdb.com/find?q=Cleopatra+2525&s=all "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078579/ Here' the song MP3 @ Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/In-The-Year-2...n+the+year+2525 (Don't know if they'll give you the 30 second preview. But then, I don't exactly care either). If you can preview it, the 30 seconds plus this UG tab, should be enough to get an interested party started on this "odyssey: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/z/z...25_ver3_crd.htm "Zager Guitars", and "Zagerization", are nothing more than an attempt by Mr. Zager to remain relevant, possibly combined with a get rich quick scheme. While our TS may not himself be an ad bot, he probably codes them while he's not trolling guitar forums. Either that, or it's Zager himself.... Zager's website: http://www.zagerguitar.com/ My own process, "Crankyfication", involves a LAPWOB action adjustment, coupled with a set of acoustic extra light strings. Oh, then I tell Cort to put my name of the headstocks... ![]() Last edited by Captaincranky : 10-29-2012 at 10:52 PM. |

yeah, that song still haunts me. knowing that a lot of songs of that era were really secretly coded songs about drugs and other things ( Tipper Gore must have been reeling at her sorority house having to listen to them) i wondered what the real message in that song was... was it really just silly or was there a message hidden within that i just couldn't get? just what was the secret "white rabbit" hidden in there?
i'm surprised more people haven't enjoyed this thread. me being the straghtforward in your face kinda swell guy that i am couldn't resist it. why just the other day, i was walking my pet Iguana down the street and came across a pile of dog poop... i says to myself.."self('cause thats what i call myself when i talk to me)..thats a pile of shit ! |

How would you have me introduce myself to the forum but to speak of good guitars. I know nothing about Denny Zager other than I own one of his guitars of which I am very satisfied with, I own several guitars. If I were you, I would keep my comments to myself until I could try one before knocking something that you know nothing about. I never said that you should own "one guitar" I know several players that own 1/2 dozen or more. |

i just want to know what makes it so special. if im going to spend my money on something, i'd like to know what makes it so different. it may br a great guitar, i have yet to say anything negative about it. you made a comparison, i'd like to know what the other contenders were.
oh...and you're in a forum, you're asking us not to keep our comments to ourselves..isn't that the purpose of a forum? i have many guitars(more than someone of my questionable talent should)..at last count 17. if you say that this guitar is the best you've ever had i'd like to know why i would consider making it #18. that's all that i'm asking of you. i am me, and I've never kept my comments to myself i'm a very extro-verted individual. of the comment that you quoted..what was derogatory in it may i ask? |

From time to time we get passersby extolling the virtues of Zager guitars. Their arrival is normally accompanied by bluster, exaggerated claims, extolling processes that to those actually, "in the know", are nothing more than a common "setup". In that capacity, "setup" is a process that a most of the regular members here are able to perform quite competently, and those that choose not to bother, have pro techs as colleagues. So, if you you going to hijack a common task which is part of owning a guitar, claiming it as your own, fabricating some hyperbolic ad hype nomenclature such as, "Zagerization", be prepared to get called on it, and rather quickly. Moving on, Mr. Zager's site hasn't changed much it content since I visited it more than a year ago. He still has the actor Steven Seagal listed as a musician. Mr. Seagul's expertise lies in the martial arts arena. If you're going to trade on a famous name, you should use ones that are known for their musical prowess, rather than their ultra violent movies. Mr. Zager gives us a treat of looking at cardboard boxes stacked up, with "USA" proudly emblazoned. And judging by the prices, nothing is likely further from the truth. Mr. Zager's instruments are almost certainly not made here in the USA, but likely in China or Korea. That is not to say there are not fine instruments made in those countries, for there are many. It is to say, "skip the BS, we're not that naive". Everything about your self introduction, apparent motivation and patter, brands you as a shill, nothing more. You're not the first to arrive either. In the off chance that I'm wrong about you being , "a shill", your "Zag-doctrination" is so thorough, as to render your opinion null and void. Quote:

In fairness, he HAS recorded and released three albums, which- questions of quality aside- is more than most celebrity musicians* can say. * Rick Springfield, Steven King, Keanu Reeves, Eddie Murphy, Jaime Foxx, Don Johnson, Russell Crowe and so, so many others, for example. Of those, only Mr. Foxx & Springfield have actually gotten positive reviews in major music magazines,

all i've got to say is....Steven Seagal has a talent? i never knew that !
oh and Eddie Murphy's "party all the time" came in handy when my son was starting to grow out of diapers...simple substitution of a single word made it fun to poop! that should give Eddie's attempt some accredidation. "my boy's got to...potty all the time, potty all the tiyime!" ![]() Last edited by stepchildusmc : 11-01-2012 at 08:34 PM. |

Didn't say "talent", I said "CDs"!
![]() I'd rather listen to Foxx, Springfield or the previously unmentioned Hugh Laurie, but he definitely has me- and most of humanity- beat in number of released recordings.
