To captaincranky: OK I will say Hello. And might I add that your opinion of me is "null and void". I came onto this site to talk about a guitar that I own and because you have a H O for Denny Zager, I get this crap from you. I thought I might learn something from this site but I was sadly mistaken.

You did learn something:

1) Zager has somewhat of a bad rep (FWIW, I learned that by following this thread)

2) people are the same, wherever you go.

So, you got off on the wrong foot here. Keep coming back. It's is both enlightening AND amusing.

Well, as the story goes, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink".

It took quite a while for that name to click for me, as I'm one of the few people in America that isn't enamored of the "House" TV series.

But, I have heard Mr. Laurie play, and he is indeed very good. However, I've seen him interviewed and he pretty much said he's astounded by how much money he makes for what he considers the easy job of acting, as opposed to how much effort he's invested in his music...

you are more than welcome in blanc... i hope that you have learned that a good entrance is important than a not very well thought out one.
where are you from anyway? i've been interested in that, you have a very studious take on the english language. what other guitars do you use and what kind of music do you play with them?
I'm from NY, Cranky's from philly, Danny's a lawyer, don't matter where he's from
Cranky and i come from areas filled with skepticism... it's one of those things that kept us from pushing up daisies as we grew up. due to our upbringing, we are naturally confrontational individuals( we've had our own falling outs betweeen us haven't we cranky?...still got an M-37 with your name all over it...just in case )
cranky has an unbelievable amount of musical knowledge lodged in his cranium..to get to it, you are going to endure some witty Philly attitude, just expect that.
me? i'm just an asshole...expect that too.
now that your here Whitey, tell us why your here...give us a little about yourself.

Thank you for the welcome. I guess I did get off on the wrong foot, I don't even know how to submit a post. If they get through I am just lucky. I thought I was just talking about guitars (ultimate guitars) I didn't know I was going to open up a can of worms. Talk again soon

I beg to differ with you. You stick his head under water and take 2 bricks and wack him in the ---- (I don't know if I can say that on this post) he will suck up all the water he can hold.

Drinking =/= Drowning.

Waterboarding your horse may make him give up Al Qaeda plans, but the water will not be going into his digestive tract, but rather, will go into his lungs.

This is perhaps both ideologically naive, and tactically unsound.

If the horse is an Arabian, water boarding will only make him more recalcitrant to abandon his extreme fundamentalist politics. As you may or may not know, the horse has already been brainwashed into believing there are seventy virgin mares waiting for him in heaven, in the event that he is called to martyrdom.....

A more accepted and medically sound method, would be the introduction of IV fluids. That way you approach from the front...

But, if you're gong to approach the horse from the rear and fist it, you're categorically on your own....

I need help on this one. If I wanted to post something about my background and interests, where would I enter this. As you might suspect, I am new at this forum business.

Well, just click you name at the upper right of the forum page, and you will be redirected to your profile page. There you can enter whatever information you'd like to share with the general membership.

Once you've made a post, your name in that post, becomes a link to your profile as well.

If you want an actual question answered, just click on the "New Thread" button, which you'll find an the top of every sub-forum page.

Ideally, (as you probably already know), the question should be appropriate to the sub forum header topic.

If you feel like being contentious, want a "keys on argument", perhaps state a controversial point of view, or do something as simple as assassinating Santa Claus' character, you can also visit "The Pit".

Point taken. I'm well old enough for the pit, although I do have some cardiac issues that might interfere with my full enjoyment of arguing for pure sport.

And speaking of arguing for pure sport, why don't you have a look at Rondo Music's "Agile" line of electric guitars: http://www.rondomusic.com/electricguitar-ss11.html

Basically, most of the Les Paul single cut clones are between pages 11 & 15.

Here their spec comparison chart for the different models: http://www.rondomusic.com/alspec.html

About $430.00 seems to be the sweet spot for price vs. feature and construction. One great thing, they're mahogany necks and bodies, and all have jumbo frets, just like a real Paul.

These are well thought of, and well made axes at bargain prices. Many people think they're better than Gibson's own Epiphone Les Paul models. My Ibanez "ART" doesn't have jumbo frets, and that's a PITA

I keep meaning to buy one of these, but I have a electric that I never take out of the case. Thank goodness I didn't mortgage the house to buy a real Les Paul!

Lots of colors and options, P-90s, humbuckers, active EMG pickups. They have a "wide" neck option (1 3/4"), good for somebody with big hands.

And last but not least you can even get a baritone 7 string Les clone, for less than a nickel..... http://www.rondomusic.com/al727ebbk.html That's different, huh?
