A very large amount of arpeggio ideas (C4C)
Ok, so I like arpeggios and I wanted to see what people think about this stuff. There are quite a few files but most are 4 bar ideas. Everything was made in TuxGuitar and exported to GP5
Some ideas are basic, others aren't. Enjoy. If you crit one idea saying it's good and expect me to do a whole song, its not gonna go down like that. EDIT: Adding a super epic arpeggio section that was on a different computer but its just so awesome i had to show people. Last edited by amonamarthmetal : 11-01-2012 at 09:09 PM. |

Good ones:
(randomly) Disguest harp Inner turmoilarp arpRiff arpeggios for days, but the chords are shite (no weight to them) arpdedoop, cuz it sounded vaguely like Fleshgod Apocalypse with a bit more depth the neapolitan one, very good progressions there tiot arps is awesome Only bad things to say are, there's a lot of that nice neo-classical stuff but the progressions get a bit samey after a while (especially with a diminished pattern on the 3rd bar or something).

i agree they get repetitive, i tried to fix that with different rhythms but they all have the same concept/patterns.
Also fleshgod apocalypse are awesome, they didn't have a factor in writing any of these ideas though. Last edited by amonamarthmetal : 10-28-2012 at 07:23 PM. |

some of them might not even be possible the way they are tabbed. the idea is to change them to suite a certain technique. they would be a lot easier if i had changed them to be tapped. its just for musicality at the moment though.

Thats cool, I also notcied that FGA have a tendency to abuse every neo-cliassical cliche possible XD so its fine.

FGA are meh. Abusing blast beats is typical for loads of Death Metal bands, it only bugs you if you're not used to it.

You can't convert me, sorry. I dug the shit out of their debut when it got out, and I also dug their Mafia EP, but I totally lost interest once their newest album came out. It was so bland and repetitive it put me off them completely. Their first album also wore off after a few listens: when I discovered the band I felt they were amazing, but nowadays? They're not bad, just eh. EDIT: I didn't notice the songs you posted, and yes, I do really like their little neoclassic pieces that always end their albums: those are pretty good, I gotta say ![]()

I love that you wrote down the functioning analysis in some, that tells me you're not just throwing around random shapes and that you're actually writing based upon their function.
While the majority of your ideas are cool, I especially liked your use of Augmented and Neapolitan chords, they don't really pursue any specific idea that targets something new. If you conjunct them with something else, I can see potential, but for the time being, its like Rusty Cooley. |

99% of the time I am just throwing around random shapes, LOL. I do the functionality after in case someone asks. I wouldn't say they are like Rusty Cooley even though he is my hero. I just have a hard time making a song that flows so I just make short ideas and hope to fit them together one day. It's not really about doing something new, it's just about releasing emotion. |

ccchords on 8 string is awesome, your greatness will never be forgotten, except you have to start writing full songs and recording them, lol.
you really should though. You should. Damn.
