I do. Despite what people who haven't played it will have you believe, it's actually really cool. It's fun and sometimes while you're playing it you'll forget you're playing guitar and just feel like you're playing a videogame.

People who have never played guitar will have a rough time at first, but if you do actually play guitar, it should be fun and anyone can stand to improve by learning more songs they don't know.

It could definitely use more songs though. There are some good songs on there, but overall the current tracklisting is less than stellar (it still has a lot of songs though). Not a whole lot of metal or stuff with guitar solos. But if you want to learn some new songs, it's a really quick, efficient, and fun way to do so.

Also, it's $80 for the game and microUSB guitar input cable that comes with (plugs into any guitar with a standard input). But you really gotta play with this with a component cable or external sound system, because you will definitely get latency issues with just an HDMI cable. A PS3 component cable is something like another $30.

It's actually a great learning tool. Especially with the mini games--Scale Runner and Dawn of the ChorDead (stupid name, I know) in particular.

I was talking to my Girlfriend and she asked what I want for my Birthday. I told her this and she called this the Lev Vygotsky Comprehensible Input Method.

Apparently this game is based on actual educational principles used to teach language.

She watched one video and wants it to learn the guitar and for her daughter to use to learn as well.

She is an ESL teacher and she is thrilled with the game already.

You must have got ripped off. I saw that game for $60 brand new and PS3 component cables come free with the PS3.

My brother has it and it's cool but I suck at it really badly for some reason despite the songs I tried being really easy. There was also a problem with it going out of sync a lot.

It has really helped me "learn" the fretboard, in the sense that I see a note on the 15th fret on the G string coming up, and my hand just moves there without having to look where I'm moving it to.

So liking metal means you aren't interested in video games?

Interesting.

I'm so tempted to buy this now... I need to work on my rhythm playing, so I figure this will be a lot more fun than just using a metronome.

I'm still not getting what that has to do with the genre of music you rate highest.

Playing it right now

Kind of fails in the video game aspect but its a fun learning tool. Like a reverse guitar hero.

I just got through perfecting Boys Don't Cry. It's a great song for getting down relatively simple chord changes.
