Fender Custom Tele Mexican Neck

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this thread seemed the most logical place: I have a Fender 72 Custom Tele Reissue and it's about 5 years old, it's pretty banged up and i won't be able to sell it because it's in really poor condition and I can't afford to get it fixed up, but I am thinking of selling the neck. Does anyone know roughly how much I could fetch for just the neck? It's a Mexican Fender and the neck itself is in good condition, any sort of feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

Probably about $150-$200 depending on fretwear and other things.

What type of damage are you talking about here? Like cracks in the wood, or just finish damage?

If anything, I'd keep the neck. New bodies and parts are easy to come by if you want to do a rebuild. A neck is a much harder thing to get.

Just little bits of finish damage, the neck is in good shape, no cracks or anything and frets are fine too. I see where you're coming from but I'm not a guitar builder at all, I think someone else would appreciate it a lot more than me!

If your not thinking of building it back up or doing anything with the rest of the guitar, might as well just sell it as a whole. I'm sure that as much damage you've done, if it's still playable, you'll be getting more then just selling the neck. Just inform people that despite the overall condition of the body, the neck is fine, as with the pick-ups/electronic's, etc.

yeah that's my point, the electronics are broken so it doesn't play properly when plugged in

Well what kind of damage are we facing here? Have the pick-ups actually been damaged or are we just talking about wiring problems? If so, it's such an easy job. I'm sure many here including me will be glad to help/guide you and get it back running.

It would be madness to quit on the guitar, weither you decide to keep it or sell it anyways, based on a few wiring problems. It's quite simpler then it seems.

They seem to be going for about $200-$350 (US) on ebay. Take a look:

Dude, if its just wiring, take some gut shots and post them on here. If anything we can help you fix it.

You can spend 15 bucks on a soldering gun and solder and have a guitar that sounds good as new. Dont sell it cheap just because a 5 dollar fix is needed.

I was trying to help him out, and said the same. Though he seems dedicated to simply get rid of the neck, God knows why, lol.

That's the point. If your not even going to do anything with the body, you might as well just fix a few wires up which will take no time or effort and you'll up the price by maybe 100-200$?

Again, thanks but I was just asking about roughly what price I might get for the neck.

Once again, the short answer:

Don't bother. You're just wasting your own time and money.

If you really want to sell the thing, I'm interested. I always like a project and I've been looking at a 72 deluxe reissue for a while now. I'm not the in UK though, if that matters (shipping's on me obviously).

I believe I was the first to ask for the body, therefor it goes to me without a shadow of a doubt or a hint of a discussion.
