This does not bode well for the Franchise...

Then again, they bought Marvel and got Joss Wheadon to do the Avengers... Maybe he'd do Star Wars?

Another good point btw. I mean, to be fair Keanu Reeves has had a big career and he may be even worse. I don't feel I'm judging Hayden even more so because of what role he had to take on, but that's not to say others haven't.

Fixed, for the most part anyways.

Thanks for the compliment. Acting is a subjective thing and what is effective to one person might not work for another at all. For example, I seem to be the only person who does not hold Meryl Streep up on a ridiculous pedestal ( she's a good actress but to me she's highly overrated and extremely affected in some of her roles). That doesn't mean I'm right, it just means I don't buy into her performances. This might be an argument in favour of us both being to some extent right (and to the same extent wrong) about
Hayden Christensen.

I agree wholeheartedly. As I see it, a real series of sequels could do one of the following:

1. Thrawn. Could be AMAZING. Tons of great new characters, an awesome plot that is connected to but not derivitave of the originals, and lays the groundwork for future movies. Although they'd have to replace all the classic actors. No way Luke, Leia, Han, AND Lando all sign on again. I'd wager Mark Hamill would do some unrecognizable cameo, that guy does a lot of behind-the-scenes awesomeness. Metalocalypse, anyone? But the main reason they won't do it is because it directly contradicts the details of the Clone Wars Lucas has so lovingly crapped out. And not just minor details, the central conflict.

2. New Jedi Order. This would take balls, as it gets REAL dark. Kills off beloved characters at a rate not matched since A Song of Ice and Fire. Could be great if they embrace the darkness, wouldn't be too hard to trim it down to a neat 4 movies or so. Balance Point, Star by Star, Traitor+Destiny's Way, Unifying Force. Oh that reminds me--Traitor is the best Star Wars book. Go read that and everything by Matthew Stover ever. Way too philosophical and brutal for Disney though. Series would probably get rated R just for the Yuuzhan Vong makeup. I WANT THIS.

3. A re-write of post-Jedi doings. Not necessarily terrible, but they'd need to get the best possible writers to even have a chance at something decent. Anything pre-Thrawn is honestly unnecessary, and anything post-NJO would take too much explanation.

4. More Clone Wars shit. Please no. No one cares.

5. Pre-prequel. Say...

See I'm one of those people who puts Meryl Streep on a ridiculous pedestal
I think acting can be subjective but only so much can be. There is definitely such a thing as bad acting, and of course most bad actors in the world won't be hired to be in a film. In the end, some do though, and I do hate Hayden as an actor but in the end, there is worse, like, unspeakably bad. I think what got to me the most about Hayden was his role in Factory Girl. If you haven't seen that movie, give it a shot and maybe you'll think he's good in it. I dunno. I just downright disliked his performance but as you said it's for the most part subjective.

Oh god no. I get that Disney has definitely had great films through those kinds of companies, but I just mean their cheesy, connect the dots, garbage and lifeless live action films that either involve old celebrities experiencing shenanigans, an animal to get our sympathy, or some sport movie where the underdog wins.

I'll stop before I offend people with where I'm going with this

Here's hoping it'll be a new story. Not some stupid prequel/sequel shit.

I hope it's about a Bounty Hunter or something. Or the republic Commandos (that game was amazing). I'm sick of Jedis being in the spotlight. Yea they got laser swords, yea they got the force. We've had 6 movies about them now, let someone else's story get told.

Damn it no.

Return of the Jedi is the best ending for the series proper; leave the extended universe stuff alone. I hate when films with good endings are given necessary sequels that make the original (and better) film(s) obsolete.

And while Disney has made some great films, they have made a lot of pointless films for the sake of making money, and this will be the latter. The prequels suddenly seem really good.
