Sorry I missed the your in Canada part. Yeah it is amazing what $50 lower in price will do to help you move it faster.

The used market for us is fairly different than the US, at least that's what I'm seeing from visiting this website regularly. Which is understandable I guess.

$50 less would be quite the difference, and none of the marshalls on Kijiji are over that much, in fact most are <$900

Also, would a JCM2000 do the job I want? I've found one for $825.

Yes the JCM2000 will do what you want. They are pretty versitile amps. I use mine for my Prog-metal band (other guitarist uses a Mesa Dual recto) and in my Hardcore/Punk band where I am the only guitarist. The amp cuts through just fine and has a lot of balls to the sound.

One of my old bandmates bought a TSL in 2001 and I always thought they sounded fine

Not that my DSL doesn't sound good
I think I might pull the trigger on a Krank chadwick series II today. Soposed to have an AC30 clean ch and a hot rod Plexi lead ch.

If it is in very good condition and everything works correctly yes I believe it is worth $825 CAD. They sell for $650-$1000 in the US depending on condition and location.

I got mine for $500 because I bought it from a friend.

See if he will trade you straight up for your 6505+, you never know it is worth a shot

I've sent out an email, awaiting a reply.

THe used amp market in my area isn't as good as I would like it to be. Finding a guitar is easy, amp, not so much.

EDIT: No dice on the trade.

Since when are DSLs so expensive? I dunno about CAD prices, but in America they go for $600 regularly. I have no idea where that $850-1000 figure is coming from.

Anyway, regardless of price, the DSL is great. One of my favorite amps.

$650-$1000. $1000 being extremely rare, and $700 being the norm in my area.

Amps don't go up for sale a lot in my area, so when a good amp does happen to appear on kijiji/craigslist, it either goes quickly or they charge some insane price. Again, the American and Canadian used markets differ a lot.

EDIT:I have a bugers 333xl in perfect condition. I had jeff from dsr amplification in sarnia put in mesa 6l6 powertubes about 3 months ago, and he alos replaced a few internal parts to make it more "road-worthy". I noticed you said the 6505+ doesn't fit your tastes. The bugera I am offering has a pretty good clean channel, a crunch that sounds pretty marshall esque and can go from light breakup to metal tones. The lead channel can be really heavy/ in the same realm as the 6505. I have the foot pedal for channel switching. I'm offering mostly because i have always liked the 6505+, and play metal 95% of the time. if you are interested just let me know.

Just received that reply from a dude for my 6505+. I've heard nothing but horrible things about burgera, but this one has been modded, would it be worth a look?

I would stray away from it, because I'll bet that by "has replaced a few internal parts to make it more "road worthy"" he actually means "has repaired it multiple times due to it breaking down on me, which it did because it's not "road worthy"" Also, a direct trade there would be an absolute no. our 6505 is worth more than his Bugera without a doubt. You would definitely be getting shafted in that trade.

unless your market is vastly different in the US i don't think you would get even $800 CAN. i see heads around here for $500 that are in decent shape. i saw a really beat up one for $300, but somebody beat me to it, but i would probably have built a new head cabinet.

i really like my dual terror. it takes dirt pedals awesomely. get a timmy or my favorite for the amp a MI Audio Blues Pro. it can get heavy with the right boost. i have a really old shitty Dual Terror clip on my profile (they have been up for like 2 years since i couldn't record after and have to figure out my recording stuff now).

you will NOT get clean cleans at a gigging volume. i never use clean cleans so that is fine with me, but you may see it differently.

I sent a message to the tech that did the mods and what not to it, "Was a power tube failure. Common in all tube amps." was apparently al he did to it, so I'm told. I've gotten a couple replies from people and I might be able to trade it for a JCM 900, hopefully I can make the trade work. I've got a boost pedal I can use if I need to.

50 Watt JCM 900 Head for $650, or a trade. The picture is kind of blurry, but from what I can tell based on the Marshall JCM 900 manual online, it's the dual reverb model.

I posted this in the bugera tread for you. Bugeras are built with extremely cheap parts the OT and PT of your peavey would cost more than the entire Bugera complete.

You would be getting majorly screwed in that trade for the 333xl.

Too bad you live in canada my buddy would trade you his JSX head for your 6505+ in a heartbeat.

The JCM900 DR are not my marshall of choice at all, but I know a few people who have them and sound really good. Got try it and see if you like it. How far away from the US border are you? you may find someone in the US that will trade you , but you'd have to go to the US to do it.

I live a solid 2 hours from Port Huron (Michigan), and I don't have my license yet, though I'm getting it in December. Even by then I have to be 18 to cross the border without an adult, tht isn't for another year and a bit.

I wrote off the 333xl after watching some videos on it.

I wouldn't mind the JSX head, I'd do that trade in a heartbeat as well.

But again, the JCM 900 DR is currently my only other option un less someone buys my amp, then I can broaden my options.

Go try the JCM900 out if you end up not liking it then you know that you can atleast cross that amp off your possibilities list. Jut because I don't like it doesn't mean you will feal the same.

Hopefully this seller emails me back and we can work out a time to try it out.

If not hopefully I can just sell the amp and get a new one
