This needs to be stickied. Seriously.
I'm also bookmarking this. That way whenever some idiot goes "50w will be way too loud for home use" or "my amp is way too loud", I can just link them to this directly to this thread and tell them "hey, shut the fuck up." I also appreciate the section on speakers. I think that truly is the biggest factor when it comes to low volume playing. My amp sounds like shit between 2-3 when run through my Jet City cab, but fine at all volumes through my Whitebox cab with V30's.

Sticky-ing threads makes them disappear, seemingly.
I'll sticky it after it's died down a little, but this thread will get a ton more hits by just staying on the front page.

^Good point, considering how much this is ignored by the newcomers.

Wow. Phenomenal thread. Great OP. I learned a lot more about amps and speakers.
Its these threads and knowledgeable users like you why I stay on this forum. If you can swim through some of the BS and Vs threads, you are bound to learn something new. |

^ agreed. UG isn't perfect, but a lot of its detractors pick the absolute stupidest threads and then act like the whole forum is like that. Which isn't exactly fair. Pick the silliest thread on any forum and it's not exactly going to make it look great.

If I ever make a trip to Australia (with the current election here, I might just MOVE there. The only thing that puts me off is the spiders. I HATE SPIDERS! And it seems as though Australia is the worst place for horrible spiders) then I will keep in mind that I should have notecards or something to talk to you. Then again, I might just grab a talk box and use that. I bet you'll hear me then ![]()

You have to be pretty damn unlucky (or stupid) to get bitten by a spider.

Yeah, but stuff that is common sense to you is not something we're brought up to check for... in most of the civillised world you are unlikely to encounter a venomous spider hiding in your shoes that could kill you if you forget to shake them out as an everyday precaution ![]()

Most venomous spiders wont kill you anyway(at least in the US). You have quite a few days after being bitten by a Brown Recluse to get to the hospital. And about a day after a black widow bite.
I was bitten by a brown recluse and didnt go to the Doctor for 4 days. Barely even left a scar. But I guess I was a lucky one. Ive seen some bad ones from people who neglect it for weeks. I have no clue about other countries spiders though. |

I just HATE spiders. I actively smash the hell out of every one I find. I'm no afraid of getting bit, I just really dislike spiders that are larger than around the size of the top of a pop can, that I know are venomous, or that are in my house. I like ones that just chillax outside and eat mosquitoes.

Thread goes from amps to spiders.
And we all know that a spider is NOT an amp.
