Footswitch problem with peavey XXX
Hey guys,
I recently bought a second hand peavey XXX and I found out that the footswitch does not always work correctly. How big is the chance that this is just the footswitch and not the amp itself? I have no technical knowledge but if it's a high chance that it is just the switch than i can buy a new one. thx for your time.

What do you have the switch on the front of the amp set to? Ultra, crunch or clean? I know the JSX will not switch between certain ch when if the switch is not positioned correctly.

I have it on clean. But sometimes when I would use it now it would work and tomorrow it wouldn't.

If it switches fine with the amps switch, you may have 1-more switches going bad on your pedal.

Try setting the switch on the amp to Ultra, that usually worked for me.

I had problems with mine too, I set it to ultra, and the majority of the time it remains on the "crunch" channel when I switch to clean, but just drops all gain. I'm still looking into how to fix this.

+1 to switching to Ultra, that's how my JSX works, and the XXX has the same footswitch wiring.
