Soundtech with my gear

Had to go setup for a gig for tonight at the place and the d*ckhead grabs my AC30, and wants to move it. Thinking he can carry the whole damn thing himself, he picks it up, runs and drops it.

I ran over and yelled at him, and he just walks away.

Next thing he did was when turning my amp on/off for tests (it was already running in standby), he flicked the switched right off, then turned them back on immidiately the wrong way around, caused a pop noise from valves, then he did it again (all really quickly). FYI this is the new AC30C2 with the ss rectifier, the one that doesn't ruin it when you put it in standby.

I am still insanely p'd off at him, had a yell at him for a good half hour afterwards. Luckily there seems to be no noticable signs of damage

Any of you guys had techs treat your gear like this?

I had my guitar at school once and let one of my friends use it for his music class when I had a break.

He never put it back in the case and left in the main music room to which I found a bunch of 7th graders ****ing around with it. Rage'd so hard at both my mate and 7th graders. Luckily nothing got damaged, but he seriously needed to learn to respect other people's shit.

How does somebody run carrying an AC-30? If he was a sound tech, why didn't you just go to the venue manager and complain? Also, why did you continue to let him be in any proximity to your amp?

It was one of those short bursts, you know when yo got something heavy and try to move quickly? I've already complained to the venue manager.

And to be honest, I let him because I just trusted him not to f*ck up with a $1500 amp. No one else has done anything like this at my previous gigs.

It tends to be other bands' members that are less respectful in my experience. Lately, we've played with a lot of bands that we have some kind of rapport with who are decent guys, but in the past I've interrupted a shitty screamo band between their songs to tell their guitarist to get his pint off my amp head and away from the vent above the valves... seriously, the most vulnerable place people could place a liquid, and they all seem to do it.
