triple x head + 5150 cab

Would a 5150 cab(straight or slanted?) sound good with a triple x head?

Well I havent heard great things about Sheffild(sp?) Speakers, but I also havent heard terrible things. I recently posted a speaker swap thread and they gave me some great cheap cab suggestions with V30s and other high quality speakers that generally go cheap.

pretty subjective question, you'd have to go and test it yourself for you to find out

I absolutely hated the 6505 cab I got with my head, it farted constantly. The mesa cab with the v30's made all the difference in the world.

Mesa cabs sound outstanding. If you can wait for it, save up the money and get a recto cab, you won't regret it .

I was thinking about a krank cab, possibly the rev sst, I need a cab thats going to help give me more lows and balance out the high end of my triple x.

i think the krank cabs are meant to be pretty good, but i've only tried them with the krank heads, so that didn't tell me too much.

v12s should balance out high end a fair bit while still sounding fairly british (assuming that's what you want).

the krankenstein one loaded with texas heats should do that, too, but with a much more american type of tone.

i'd probably avoid the one with governors- i haven't tried governors, but assuming they're eminence's version of a v30, they're gonna have a tighter bass.

prolly v12s for that- maybe even governors, a lot of those metalcore (?) bands use v30s. though the xxx is fairly bright, so maybe v12s would be fine.
