which guitar should i get?!?!

Hi, im going to be studying abroad in january and i really need help picking a guitar. i play mostly metal (metallica, slayer, megadeth) and im also a huge hetfield fan, so im into LP's, explorers and V's.
my budget = 800$ but i could go a bit higher
my options -
gibson LP ( which i will have to buy emg's for)
gibson flying V ( the 500T is pretty high output so emg's are not necessary )
Gibson explorer standard (( the 500T is pretty high output so emg's are not necessary )

ltd snakebyte (i already have one at home, wouldnt mind getting another one :P)
ltd KH 602
ltd EC 100 VB
ltd fx 360

epiphone 1984 explorer ressiue
epiphone prophecy

feel free to post your suggestions

How does you studying abroad factor into the equation of which guitar to buy?

So you're going to buy it when you get to the new country? So you're considering buying a second snakebyte so that you can leave one at home and have another with you? A flight case would be cheaper, bro.

Buy a hardshell case.

Search for 'Gator Cases'. I know that they make a case that is designed to fit almost any guitar shape and you use foam pieces to make your guitar fit snugly inside of it. I use one for my explorer, it does a great job.

Done.

I think the Explorer is a very good guitar. BUT as I am not a fan of Gibson... I would recomend a PRS SE Allander. It's light, sounds heavy and will kill any LTD... IMO.

I dislike ESP and signature models so I would get the explorer, but why waste all that money when you can get a case for $150?

Here's what I would do: don't buy a guitar to take overseas with you- go overseas and buy a guitar.

1) less to carry on your trip over (YAY!), which means less hassle.

2) the hunt for the guitar in this new country will be an adventure that will show you things about whatever city you're in.

3) the guitar itself will then become a big-ass memento of the trip itself.

4) you may find something you think is even cooler than a Gibson or LTD. (No knock on Gibson & LTD, but there are plenty of quality builders out there.). You might find something that is extremely hard to get in the USA, and therefore kind of rare here.

So...where are you going? Maybe we can suggest some cool brands to look for?

PS: don't forget most countries use 220v not 120, so if you're bringing an amp, you'll need a transformer.

You already have a snakebyte. I doubt you need another one

Get a Gibson V and change it up a bit.

Word of advice: Never call people who are giving you advice ******ed. It makes you look like, to be frank, a huge asshole. Many people, myself included, are confused as to why you need another guitar, especially because you want one so similar to the one you have.

Also, "good" is self-preference, and there are quite a variety of needs to make something "good". Some people claim Schecters are good, I do not like them. So people do not like 7 strings, I love 7 strings, etc.

For $800, get like a used Ibanez Prestige. You really can't go wrong with that.

You don't call people '******ed' for helping you. I learned that the hard way.

I got my Epiphone Prophecy while living in Japan. Got it off a classified site for about $300 or so.

In retrospect I should've gotten an Japanese-made Ibanez but I was just getting back into playing at the time and didn't really know much about the brands.

Where will you be going to study?
