Waaaaa Fender PA100 or POD HD 400???
I have money for any of these two and I have to decide in the next 12 hours which one I'd buy.
I need the POD because I'm gonna start playing covers in a bar for money, but I want the Fender because it's seems like a really nice amp, specially for the money. Each one costs $300 and it's the exact amount I have in my hands right now! If i buy the amp then I could use my Laney for working while I get something more proper... Which one would you chose and why?

Why do you really need the fender?
Why do you really need the POD? My vote would be for the POD as you can play it all night without pissing anyone off and its greats to record some riffs down before you forget them. The POD works great as a pre-amp just run it into the effects loop return and you have a bunch of different amp sounds at your disposal. choices choices.... good luck. I am biased as I have never played the Fender.

Fender PA100's are fantastic, esp if you plan to do some modding. You can have four differently voiced Fender Twins by changing a few values around. I'd kill for a PA100 and for $300 if you don't buy it you need to see a doctor, you need an MRI of your brain.

As versatile as the POD is (i recently bought the HD500) the Fender is a great deal that you shouldnt pass up on, unless it turns out to be useless for your needs.

Nope, definitely is not useless and PODs will be around for a while, this baby not! I'll try it tomorrow and if it works ok I'll bring it home then. Thank you guys.

Might I ask why you need the pod to play in a bar? Your Mesa should be able to do that just fine, no? I'd go with the Fender hands down.

He's playing places where they'll steal it off him at gunpoint.

You said 'need' for one, and 'want' for the other...

^^What Cathbard said!
^Yep, but like I said I can get the POD eventually, the Fender is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Cath is excited about the PA100 because it'd cost a fortune over there... I actually saw one around here a while ago for ~$200... And Arby911 found one near him for about the same. I don't think they're exactly rare.
![]() I just think it'd turn into a project in the corner that never gets realized. If you consider yourself a modder, and have a gameplan in mind then go for it... But otherwise I think it's probably best left alone.
