How do you guys organize classical music?

I'm using WMP (Don't hate, it's really easy to sync to my MP3) and I'm trying to organize my classical shtuff, and I'm having a bit of a rough time. I have a couple compilation discs, where it'll go:

008. Antonín Dvořák - New World Symphony (Op. 95) - Largo
009. Sergej Vassiljevitsj Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No. 2 (Op. 18) - Adagio Sostenuto

They're all under Various Artists, under the same album and I'm trying to fix this.

Right now I'm putting the name of the orchestra that plays it under Artist, and the composer under Composer.

Anyways, just wondering how you guys tend to sort out this stuff.

I usually sort by color. Red classical music goes in one pile, blue in another, green in yet another, and purple and orange together in a final pile. I don't listen to yellow classical music though because yellow is a terrible color.

OP, your system seems fine.

Can you play FLAC files in WMP though? Haven't used it in around 3 or 4 years but as far as I can remember it never supported them.

I laughed out of the randomness of this.

I hope you have the sound system to justify listening to FLAC

I did at my parents but not necessarily in this flat.

But most classical music I find comes in FLAC anyway. It wasn't meant in an elitist way.

I usually just list the composer as the artist. Easier to find what I'm looking for that way.

Iirc you can put the "album artist" as various artists but the "artist" as whatever you want and it will group them all under the various artists in the artist tab.

I always list the composer's name as artist and just the cd name for the album.

All my classical recordings are fairly organized

What most people have said - composer as artist, title the movement or piece and album either the total work or perhaps the specific version of it, e.g Bach's Well Tempered Clavier performed by Richter at such and such studios.
