NCD: Finally settled
as yall know i hated the sound of my bran new 5153 when ran through my 1960a
so in the search for teh ultimate techdeth/djenty sound I settled on this hopeing for the best ![]() Its a splawn cab obviously. Ordered used from GC out of state with high hopes. suprised when it got here to find it has 2 small blocks and 2 texas heat in an X pattern and this thing kills. KILLS very articulate bottom end. no boomeyness like my marshall. has a nice punchy mid and a surprisingly chimey treble sound. I assume thats the texas heats? but i dig it. gets me that "whitechapel" tone that i dig. |

Happy NCD dude!
just a quick Q, are the cleans any better on 3 than the 2?

The cleans are AMAZING both the head and the cab lol. but yes the cleans on the 3 are fantastic. fenderish. (weird considering fender makes it :P) the whole amp blows the old peaveys away. used a fja metal 5150 for years and the stock channel 3 on this amp mutilates it. very very articulate |

^ I think I've heard good things about that combo on the Splawn board.
Welcome to the club Bladed Vaults. Splawn makes great cabs. My 212 has Small Blocks. 55w Greenback clones I think. PS: Looks killer ![]()

thank you sir. I was gonna bite the bullet and buy an orange but my whim got me this and I think im sold on splawn cabinets for quite a while now the 7 i use for one band has a BKP warpig in it witch has MASSIVE BASS and this cab made it much easier to control the eq. I used to have to overdo the treble to make up for the lopsided eq of the warpig but the chimey top end from the heats even it out quite nicely |
