NGD: Ernie Ball Music Man JP12-7 BFR (Abiogenesis riffage inside)
Hi folks! I've recently traded my Dæmoness Cimmerian 7 (blasphemous, I know) for this incredible instrument.
Let's start with some pics & vids: the first video is one of many teasers we've filmed for Abiogenesis debut album, specifically I'm playing one of our tracks' main solo. If you're interested, you can download TAB and MP3 files at this link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5864881/Abi...Track3_solo.zip The second vid is just some riff ideas I've been working on lately, hope ya dig! Pics time! If you like it, you can download a wallpaper of the B&W pic here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5864881/jp12bw.jpg ![]() ![]() ![]() Some words about the guitar: I've owned several JP models, from regular ones, to BFRs, JPX/XI...but this is definitely my fav of the bunch. Finish is just stunning, you can actually see how the color reacts to light in the first vid. Way better than the X and XI models imho, more vivid while still retaining its classy look. I didn't like Crunch Lab and Liquifire at all in my JPXI, way too dark and compressed, but here they surely work better. It sounds bigger, airier, less focused than the XI. Cleans are slightly better and have more character, rhythms are just a hair less tight than the XI (still very tight), but richer and bigger, which I really like. I've just purchased a Lundgren M7 that I'll probably put in it, not because I'm not happy with the tone, but just for the sake of experimenting ![]() Where it really shines is leads: Liquifire owns in this guitar, providing full and cutting solos with lots of juicy character, instant Petrucci tone. I've traded my Dæmoness since I needed a trem-equipped guitar for some incoming gigs, but actually it has served me perfectly for the album's leads and cleans. Overall, a super top class instrument that makes me an EBMM fanboy even more! That's it for now, hope you liked this NGD ![]() Last edited by Frak : 11-15-2012 at 07:19 PM. |
