"Hey let's make an awesome looking guitar and give it the ugliest finish ever!" Judging by your post I'm just gonna guess you're unfamiliar with ECG(?). Probably not sustainable (not 100% sure what qualifies as such), but also not wood. http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/

i'm a close-minded guitarist who likes the classic looking designs like a telecaster or es-335 or something..
the other types of newer guitars around seem ugly to me and generally aren't for what i play anyway ![]()

you can take environmental actions in other aspects and activities in your life. Wood is essential for a guitar.

Still, you can be a dick about it further propelling the practice of deforestation or at least try to respect the enviroment, which is enabling you to make a living The Taylor thing where he discovered that they were throwing away all non-black ebony for fretboards and decided to say 'screw the market only wanting black ebony, we're going to use everything' is pretty cool http://www.taylorguitars.com/about/sustainable-ebony Last edited by seljer : 11-19-2012 at 06:01 AM. |

Sorry I'll take my exotic woods any day over this. It's nice that they are thinking about the environment but I just don't want my guitars made out of plastic.

If it sounds good then I don't think I'd care.

Hi Forum Members, I make a bamboo-bodied semi-acoustic electric with advanced passive elecs that sounds remarkable. The secret is in designing to the material and my lightweight composite body is light but extremely strong. The result is extended harmonics with tremendous low end focus. Check it out at [forbidden link]
