im planning to change my paint

what would be a best materials to paint a strat guitar?
tips and advices anyone?

I would suggest stripping the paint right down to the wood. Never paint over paint, it does not work.....

You should try out the Gear Building & Customizing forum. Also, paint on paint can work, if you prep correctly, but going to the wood is the best idea. And don't do it by hand, for god's sake.

My advice is pay someone who knows what they are doing to paint it. You can find shops that will paint a solid color for <$200. If you want to learn how to paint guitars and think you will enjoy it go for it but if you just want your guitar to be a different color send it to someone.
