Well would marshal or VOX be a good type of amp for pop punk?

not many people would recommend a vox for pop punk, but actually i feel that, depending on what you class as pop punk, then they are the perfect amp for it.
Crank the top boost channel, set the bass just over half and the treble just below half and you have one hell of a tone, it's perfect for bands such as you me at six, kids in glass houses (newer stuff and most other british pop punk bands, want to play something like new found glory, all time low, or most other american pop punk bands then stick a clean boost (eg ehx lpb - less than £30) in front of this channel and set the boost to half and if you shove a rat or an overdrive (od3, ts808) in front of the amp on the normal channel and crank it then you can even play the heavier side of pop punk such as the blackout. However if bands such as the blackout are what you mainly play it's probably not right for you as there are better amps for high gain purposes. A lot of pop punk bands use ac30's though; Kids in glass houses (smart casual stuff) You me at six (new stuff) The summer set Motion City Soundtrack All American Rejects and tons of rock bands including the foo fighters use them as well. |

Dude. Answer the questions. It is not counter productive if you would answerthedamnquestions.
Brand of amp does not matter when you're buying. every amp brand will have different flavors. |

Off topic: If you consider the Peavey classic series allow me to be the black sheep and say I don't like them, their cleans are alright but the gain leaves alot to be desired....check out some peavey from the 80's and 90's, such as the Ultra series etc or the peavey ranger (glances at my sig) yup peavey ranger is a great choice
has those nice cleans, with legitimate distortion. And just so I stay on topic with the rest of the thread: ![]()

(My obligatory post)
Get an AC30. Or an AC15 if you have a quiet or no drummer.

I had one, a classic 50 4/10................yeah, actually traded it for my newly acquired ranger 2/12. Seriously check out some clips of the ultra series/ranger, you may just have your mind blown. Mine was. These old peaveys are gold

A lot of Turkish Angoras have eyes like that. They bred them for it purposely.
