Wiring 4x12, some questions

So i have a carvin 4x12 with all 16 ohm speakers (it is 16ohm) as it originally was.

I have red and white wires.

i believe red is positive and white is negative? correct?

Do i hook one red lead and one white lead to each speakers (one + and one -)?

or is there a specific was to go about doing this?

thanks thats all i wanted to know.

Yes, you can do that and you will get all your speakers wired in parallel for a total impedance of 4 ohms.

It originally probably was wired with two pairs series/parallel for a total impedance of 16 ohms.
edit: heres the first picture I found of google showing you how to do this http://www.rocketroberts.com/techar...k_4_ser-par.gif
wiring two 16ohm speakers in series makes 16+16=32ohms
wiring the two groups that are 32ohms in parallel gets makes it 16ohms

how do i wire to parallel im kind of new to this thing.

if i wire parallel ill have a total of 16 ohm correct?

EDIT: There are 2 stacks of leads on the little circuit board, i imagine it is already in parallel and i just have to match + and -?

You're trying to re-wire a 16 ohm cab to be 16 ohm?

i am confused as to what the wire is between the ones speakers plus and one speakers minus...?

it says there is a cable going to one speakers minus to the others positive, which i dont get because.

I have 8 wires. 4 white and 4 red.

so you want to wire a 16 ohm 4x12 with 16 ohm speakers? If so I believe you want series parallel, like so.

Red is hot, blue is ground, the purple ones connect the speakers + and - terminals.

EDIT: maybe the previous dipshit removed the wire and re wired it to be parallel running on 4ohm.

I'll just run my amp on 4 ohm because i wired parallel.
