Death Celebration (GP5 + MIDI)
Hi forum, this is an idea I have for a progressive rock song. I just want to know from you guys how it is and what i can improve on. I will gladly reply to your tabs if you ask

It's alright. It grooves nicely, but boy that vocal line had better be working hard if you're gonna have this much repetition. A couple pointers- I think there should be a break after the first chorus, instead of going straight into the next verse. For example, in Heart Shaped Box, after the vocal chorus ends, there's that riff that softens the transition to the second verse and the solo the next time around.
Another transition that was really ineffective was the bridge before the solo- hard rock chorus shouldn't go into the atmospheric intro reprise so suddenly. Other than those points, it works fine as a hard rock song. C4C is in my sig. Thanks. |

This. I can tell what I'm thinking about while listening. Chorus riff should be played exactly the same way as intro with guitar. Sounds slightly better to my ears. Doesn't sound too progressive to me. And you shouldn't use same solo twice. |

I also agree about the solo. Feel free to have one similar, but I think the idea of a solo is that it doesn't repeat imo.
