The Pit's favorite podcasts!

There's not been a proper thread on the podcasts we listen to here since 2009 unless I've been horribly horribly failed by the Search bar and function, so, rather than being all gross and bringing up a corpse, let's start anew. I'll edit some of the more popular ones into OP if many of you come discuss with us. Fully expect the SModcast to show up on that list

If you post one that hasn't been posted before, or you haven't read the thread to know if it has, give us a brief description of what it is or die please.

--

I don't listen to many, but here's the ones I most reliably turn to:

Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! is a "news quiz" show with an eye for the funny or weird stories from NPR that's also released as a podcast, featuring a rotating three-person panel of comedians or otherwise witty people. Ranges from entertaining to gut-wrenchingly hilarious.

Marek v Wyshynski is a hockey podcast that cracks me up and also has really good interviews from time to time. It can get a bit long sometimes.

TEDTalks is exactly that, audio-only versions of TED presentations.

Recently I've started to check out The Flop House, a podcast dedicated to its hosts clobbering a terrible movie they recently watched.

I think that's because no one has listened to a podcast since 2009

I only listen/watch podcasts if it's for class. I like watching the TEDTalks and listening to The Dean Blundell Show that is done by a local radio station. It's just their morning radio show formatted on iTunes.

Podcasts are more popular now than they've ever been.

I've cut waaaay back on the podcasts I listen to. I used to listen to ten or so a week, but now I'm at two-three.

Comedy Bang Bang and Who Charted every week.

The only one I listen to is the Monday Morning Podcast with Bill Burr. I don't even like his standup, but goddamn that's a good podcast.

Adam Carolla Podcast. will never be Loveline, but it's decent.
Doug Loves Movies. probably the most consistently funny and entertaining.
Dave Dameshek Football Program

I guess if wait wait don't tell me counts I like that one too. I usually just listen to it on NPR though. same with This American Life.

My syndicate airs both those on some shitty time like 8:00pm on Saturday. Radio is not appointment entertainment, thanks.

Used to listen to Philosophy Bites for really good, accessible interviews with well-known philosophers.

Lately, all I've been listening to is Giantbomb's podcast which deals with video game news and discussion. Hilarious stuff.

Been trying to get into This American Life but it sucks that the podcasts aren't free
